Message from Mrs. Castell

Dear Parents

It is with huge sadness that I write this, not knowing when we will open our doors again to you all. I want to thank parents and carers for their wonderful support and kind words in these difficult times. Our staff have been so flexible in covering staff shortages and I am grateful to them all for supporting each other and our families in this time of national emergency. I can assure you we will continue to be in touch, our staff will meet virtually and we will be sending home resources and activities for your children. Of course we are committed to supporting children of key workers in school, but for the rest of you, if we cannot meet in person please know that we will be thinking of you constantly – you are all part of a very precious extended family.

In the midst of all this we have had some lovely news today. Writtle University College Students Union have raised an incredible £2000 for our Health and Happiness Hub through charitable events and my son also raised £1000 from the Brentwood Half Marathon, which will be split between the Hub and Macmillan. We are all going to need to focus on our well-being over the coming months, so a project like this will give us something to look forward to. Thank you so much for your support.

Please stay safe, follow the government advice and look after yourselves and your families. We will see you all again soon.

With my sincerest best wishes,
Helen Castell
