Information from the Year 2 SATs meeting on Thursday 17th March.
End of Key Stage 1 assessments take place in May. TheSchoolRun.com have a great guide to the end of Year 2 assessments: KS1 SATs: a parents’ guide.
Children are assessed for English (reading and writing) and Maths (arithmetic and reasoning). Grammar, punctuation and spelling tests are optional, but these areas inform part of the teacher assessment for writing. All assessments take place as part of the usual school day and additional fun activities will take place during the assessment period. Can we reiterate that the SATs will be administered in the most stress-free way possible and many children will be unaware that they have even taken place. Please speak to the Year 2 team at your Parents Evening appointment if you have any particular queries.
